It has been a while since I posted anything, and I just wanted to give a quick update on my writing progress. The first draft of book two of The Coven of the Bond is now well underway. I estimate I am now almost two thirds of the way through, and it is progressing well. I hope to be done in the next couple of months, which will allow me time to take a short break from writing. This time will allow me to approach the second draft with a more objective eye – a process that worked well for me with Nightflower.
I will say that I think this second book is going to need some more reworking than the first did, and the second draft is likely to be quite a change from the first. As things have gone on the story has taken me in unexpected directions and characters and themes have developed that now require me to go back and reshape the initial chapters to fit.
I don’t have a title yet, but I will post more updates here as things move along further. When I am happy enough with it, I may even post a sample here. The story is really starting to take off now, and I am excited to see where the book takes me in the final third.
To all those who read and enjoyed Nightflower, I wanted to take time to just say thankyou, and I hope you are looking forward to the continuation of Caya’s story.
