Who is this, Ethan Lee?
Ethan Lee is the author of the Coven of the Bond series of dark fantasy novels. He lives right in the middle of England, about as far away from the sea as it is possible to be. Perhaps this contributes to his desire to escape reality. Perhaps not.
For a long time, he wanted to write fantasy novels. He’s tried a few times, but the results were…disappointing. Nothing ever got finished either, which is probably a good thing overall.
Nightflower changed that. It’s a dark fantasy about a witch who loses everything and decides to burn the world down in response. It’s about grief and rage and whether revenge can ever really give you what you’re looking for.
When he’s not writing, he collects board games and a perhaps ill-advised number of swords. He reads widely across fantasy and horror, and is particularly drawn to stories where the moral lines aren’t clean and the characters don’t always do the right thing.
